Consider what happens to the pressures on the various points in that very important organ when the head is consistently carried tilted off center of pulled back. We don't know that much about the functioning of the brain, but we know enough about the functioning of the rest of the body to know how much better it is when it is balanced. We can assume that law doesn't stop at the neck.
